This Week Amanda/Mandy has agreed to do the Sunday music. She had prepared a song, but after listening to conference she changed it to "I love to see the Temple. I think we sometimes take it for granted that we have a Temple so close. When I was a kid and even when we were married, we had to go all the way to St. George. When I was on my mission, the members would save sometimes for several years in order to travel to the nearest Temple in London. We should be more appreciative that the Las Vegas Temple is only 20-30 minutes away.
We had lots of time to kill today, so I had her play one of the songs she has been working on. It is Concerto in A Minor 3rd movement. The composer is Vivaldi. Vivaldi is one of Kathy's favorite composers. When she was going to B.Y.U. she took a music appreciation class. Now that Mandy is starting to play more classical music, it is nice to listen to and recognize some of the more popular classical pieces.
I like the Sunday music blog and think I will make it a regular part of my posts. Jake is anxious to play a song that he is learning for next Sunday. He wanted to play it today, I told him we would do it next week, I explained that it is Sunday Music by (just one person). He said we should call it Sunday musicals, (meaning more people should play). I don't know where my kids picked up their joy of performing, I don't think I would have ever been able to do it, but it is fun to see them develop their talents, and enjoy doing it. Enjoy
My kids agree with Jake the girls watched Mandi for about 20 min. then aked to see Jake. The begining of the second song reminds me of all the girls in france song that kids sing.
ReplyDeleteI love your Sunday music. I can just sit at my computer and listen to the music I missed by not going to church. I look forward to next weeks performance. Tell your kids I love listening to them.
ReplyDeleteI wish we blogged "a few years back," we had Sunday music, too. Enjoy it while you can.
